I didn’t get a chance to watch the Oscars so I was on Twitter looking for the latest updates. I was happy to find out that Monique Best Supporting Oscar for her role in Precious. She has definitely come a long way from Queens of Comedy to the Parkers, and now Oscar-winning roles as well as the Monique Show. She has always seemed genuine and true to herself no matter what the status quo is doing. Congrats to her! Memorable quote, “To my amazing husband Sidney, Thank you for showing me that sometimes you have to forego doing what’s popular to do what’s right. And baby, you were so right!”

 Miss Congeniality aka Sandra Bullock finally got her gold statue as Best Actress in The Blind Side. I have been a fan of hers since speed and love all her movies. She was poised and graceful as she accepted her award. Memorable quote: “Did I really earn this, or did I wear you all down?” She also thanked her late mother in her speech for “reminding her daughters that there’s no race, no religion, no class system, no color, no sexual orientation that makes us better than anyone else. We are all deserving of love.” Ironically, Bullock also won a Razzie award that same weekend. I guess she showed them! Congrats to her as well!

Although Gabby Sidibe didn’t win, we still love her anyway! She’s won numerous awards and I’m sure she will forever be grateful just to have been nominated. Congrats to Geoffrey Fletcher also for becoming the first black screenwriter to win an Oscar. Definitely a special night.

And the prize goes to Monique! Check out this quote she gives from an interview with Barbara Walters that airs this coming Sunday.

“Could Sid have sex outside of his marriage with me? Yes. That’s not a deal-breaker. That’s not something that would make us say, ‘Pack your things and let’s end the marriage. What if it’s 20 times? So what? We’ve been best friends for over 25 years, and we truly know who we are. Oftentimes, people get into marriages and they don’t know who they’re laying next to. I’m very comfortable and secure with my husband.”

So you’re not comfortable shaving your legs, but you are comfortable with your husband sleeping with other women and potentially bringing you home all types of diseases and ish? To answer my question she adds,

“He loves the hairy legs and if Sid likes the hairy legs, there you go. I tried shaving one time, and it was so uncomfortable and painful and I said never again would I do that to myself. I’m 42 and I’m very hairy.”

*Crickets*

…for his Akoo Jeans caused received so much bad press, that they were forced to take it d0wn by CBS Outdoor in Newark, NJ. To me, it looks rather tame compared to all the other ish that we see daily on TV and other billboards, but that’s just me.Maybe all this free press will generate some sales for Akoo. I forgot all about it.

Is there a double standard going on here. I could’ve sworn this ad by Calvin Klein, which gives the suggestion of an orgy party and shows nudity, did not stir up this much controversy.

Akoo released a statement saying,

How could I have missed this gem?!  Baby Mama #356, Nivea, released released her new video which features cameos by her ex-boo Lil Wayne. I was over at Sandra Rose today (my guilty pleasure) when I saw this video. I didn’t pay much attention to her overly exaggerated voice because I was sitting there open-mouthed waiting on the next scenes. Lil Wayne  alone will make Love Hurts come in at #10 on the 106th & Park countdown. I wonder how Lauren London, Antonia Carter and the others felt when watching this? Couldn’t you just see her “Yeah, b****!” look on her face in her and Wayne’s intimate scenes?One thing I can say about Lil Wayne is that he keeps money in his baby mamas pockets. It’s rumored that he shot 10 videos before he’s to report to jail which has been extended (I know right) to Monday, March 8th. I’m still waiting on this Yo Gotti and Lil Wayne “Women Lie, Men Lie” video which I hope is coming soon.

The whole fatal attraction theme adds a surprising twist to the song, which is a sample of Deniece Williams classic, Silly.

I’m just glad that she’s gone back to the style that works best…or at least her label put out what her audience loves. Her last album, The Makings of Me,  was actually better than it was received, but the promotion and marketing was lacking. Good to see her back.  Monica’s new album, Still Standing, hits stores March 23rd. Go out and support real music!

Word on the streets is that singer Brandy and rapper Flo-Rida are together. Ummmm…yeah. Brandy celebrated her birthday earlier this week with her BFF Kelly Rowland, Flo-Rida and others. 

He does look rather odd being there in the first place, but what do I know?  Maybe this will be good for hers and Ray J’s upcoming reality show or perhaps she’s found a publicity stunt true love. Who knows?  Snitch has the story here. Good luck with that Brandy.

I don’t know how I missed this picture in my earlier post on NY Fashion Week, but Naomi Campbell is absolutely gorgeous in designer Alexander McQueen’s inspired dress and shoes that would give any woman a reason to hate, lol.  Her body is sick and she looks like she’s still in her 20’s!
